Nicole Shuba

Not too long ago, Jim and Janice Baughman had their third child; Nicole. She was bright; hardworking and they knew that she was destined to be a “star.” She attended school in Mill City, Oregon and graduated in 1988. As established by local custom, after graduation from high school she left home on a vision-quest. Her quest took her, among other places, to Arizona.
After a few years in the desert trying her hand at pizza, road construction, law and sales, she realized that she missed the green hills of Oregon. So, she moved back to Salem to work in the banking industry. After a year or two counting beans at the bank, she became attracted to public service and landed a job with the State of Oregon, Department of Administrative Services working first in the Facilities Division and then in Risk Management Division.

After a successful stint at DAS, she was recruited by another state agency; the Office of Private Health Partnerships, where she conducted audits, managed a team of employees and crafted policy for its statewide programs. But it wasn’t what she was born to do. In her spare time, (not taken up by her loving husband and children and pre-occupation with pure-bred Dalmatians), she studied the local residential real estate market. She combed the papers and Internet looking for real estate ideas and investments. Before long her real estate hobby became an obsession that interfered with her sleep so she decided to resign from state service and throw herself whole-hog into a career in residential real estate.

Now, one of the stars in the HomeStar Brokers constellation, she is doing what she was born to do – assisting clients to successfully navigate the complexities of buying and selling real estate.

Joshua Crain

As a real estate professional I look to personally make the real estate process as simple as possible. I enjoy getting to know people and always hope to make a lifelong friendship and business relationship. I strive for excellence in everything that I do, and I work diligently for each one of my clients. I strive to always answer clients’ calls and keep in contact however my clients feel most comfortable whether it is coming over to visit about real estate or even keep you posted via text messages. My goal is to always be aware of the current market conditions as they truly are vital to real estate and to the interest of my clients. My belief is that integrity is of upmost importance and my goal is for my client’s needs to be satisfied.

I went to Corban College and got a bachelor’s degree in business administration and have worked in both the sales and construction fields for several years. Soccer became my sport of choice when I was young and I continued playing throughout college and also played with the Cascade Surge. I hope to get the chance to coach soccer so that I can have the opportunity to get involved in my community and give other children the ability to learn more about the sport I enjoy. I have a wonderful wife named Mallory and we have been happily married for a little over two years and the other member of our small family is a mini Daschund, Bella.

I value the relationships I have and believe that to have a successful business partnership one must be a friend as well as a client. Please feel free to give me a call so together we can work on building a foundation for the future.
